Business relocation is a hassle. But you'll get a good start once you gather the necessary moving equipment and supplies. Here's a list of necessary equipment for business relocating.
Checklist of office moving equipment
Moving trucks(s) If you're handling the move without an office moving company, you'll need moving trucks. Book these far in advance to ensure availability.Dollies and hand trucks Don't fight gravity. Put heavy items on a dollies and hand trucks (also called hand carts).
Furniture pads and blankets Office desks and furniture won't be scuffed when you use moving pads and blankets.
Moving boxes If you're moving all at once, you'll need many boxes. If making multiple trips between your old and new places, boxes can be reused.
Tape and stretch film You'll need tape to seal moving boxes and file cabinet drawers. Use stretch film to ensure multiple boxes stacked together don't cave or topple.
Cleaning supplies If you're required to leave your former office space clean, you'll need to have cleaning supplies on hand.
IT Servers If the office hosts an internet or intranet and this needs to be seamlessly maintained, your IT department may need to establish temporary hosting during the move.
Computers All computers need to be handled with care. Wrap PCs in bubble wrap or foam before transporting.
Computer wiring Once you've move to your new location, it's likely you'll need ample wiring to make sure your computer network can easily be reconnected.
Signage Once relocated, make sure to leave a sign in the former location to indicate to your customers and clients of your new address.
